The Wetlands Trip

Posted by carvemeup on October 12, 2008

On the 8th of October 2008, my class made a school trip to the Wetlands park.  We were guided through out Wetlands park.  At first we met the only crocodile named Pui Pui, the guide asked us why they had put these leaves over the building, the reason was it would stop heat getting into the building and could use less air conditioning. This is Pui Pui the crocodile.

There are a lot of dragonflies and damselflies in the Wetlands.  There are a few differences between them. For example: Damselflies have a longer tail and their eyes are separated and not together.  Dragonflies however have a shorter tail and their eyes are connected.  When they stop flying the dragonflies’ wings are spread out and the damselflies aren’t.  The damselflies’ larva have three gills at the end of their tails, whereas the dragonflies’ larva are inside the body.

How can you tell the difference between the male and female fiddler crab?  The male has large pincers and is used to attract female and to fight with other crabs.  The male crab’s colour is reddish-orange and the female crab’s colour is grey.  Once we saw two male crabs fighting each other.  Crabs usually walk sideways, but I found this crab crawling slightly  forward.  Throughout the whole trip I was overjoyed.

Yesterday I went to swimming gala held in the residents club of Discovery Bay.  I enrolled to four events. The first event was the 50m breaststroke and after that was 25m breastroke.  My other two races were 25m and 50m freestyle.

In all of my races I got to the finals.  I won two gold and one bronze, the two gold were from 25m and 50m breastroke.  The bronze is 3rd of 25m freestyle.  Guess what?  I got the individual champion for 9-10 years old children, Ididn’t even expect to get a trophy.  I felt really happy yesterday and I am expecting to win the next swimming gala.

My 1st STORY!!

Atlantis Sinking!

Published

Keijo Bumba was assigned to work with Mylosa Fringo for a science project due in a week.  Their project was on different life forms within the galaxy or further.  They decided on taking turns to find information.  Keijo had a problem with Mylosa because she was just too smart for him.  They worked together and weren’t making any progress.

Suddenly the danger alarm of AFAS (Academic Foundation Atlantian School,) rang. Then Keijo and Mylosa had to line up and walk out of the school.  The schools security robots checked for any clues to what happened.  After the robots scanned AFAS they found a lot of data stolen and it was  information about Atlantis.  They also found a message from a person named Simthinsnapple possibly the menace of this crime.

The message said:“Warning if you try to interfere with my plans you will have to die trying.  Simthinsnapple”.

All the people in Atlantis were shocked to hear the news.  Keijo felt injustice in this matter and had to do something to help.  Keijo quickly searched on the Internet on Simthinsnapple and figured out where Simthinsnapple lived, the place was called Historiako, an island which is full of trees.  Mylosa went to visit Keijo and saw him packing his things to go somewhere with Jackno his pet porcupine.
    ”Where are you going?”Mylosa asked,
”I am going to stop Simthinsnapple so he doesn’t sink Atlantis.” He answered.
”Can I come too?” Mylosa asked,
    “Sure.”Keijo replied.

Suddenly Atlantis started to sink then Keijo and Mylosa knew it was time to go to Historiako, they took a plane to Historiako and found his base in the most deepest, most darkness, most scariest part of the forest.  His base was in a cave miles away from the entrance of the cave.  Once they got inside they fell directly into a trap.

They were tied to a rope over a pot of demented alligators trying to eat them.  Keijo fell down and luckily Mylosa grabbed his hand, but Keijo was slowly slipping down, because his hand was covered in sweat.  His hand was slippery and he almost fell down.  Mylosa thought of a plan, she asked Keijo if she could borrow his comb (because he has long hair) she quickly tied it to a rope.  Then she hooked the comb to the bit where the string was hooked on so they could get out of the tied up string without falling.  Keijo and Mylosa swiftly jumped on to land without touching the demented alligators and sprinted to the lab where Simthinsnapple was to be seen.

Once they got there it was too late Atlantis was half sunk.
”Ha ha your too late you can’t stop me now.” said Simthinsnapple,
    ”Yes I can.”Keijo said.
Jackno charged at Simthinsnapple but then Simthinsnapple quickly held up a medieval shield and blocked Jackno’s attack.  Keijo sneakily jumped on Simthinsnapple’s back.  Keijo then took out a carving knife and put it to Simthinsnapple’s throat.  Simthinsnapple pushed Keijo to the ground.  Mylosa quickly hit Simthinsnapple near the spinal cord to knock him out.

Simthinsnapple then was paralyzed and couldn’t move, but Keijo didn’t know how to stop the device.  Keijo randomly pressed all buttons on the machine and fizzed up the machine.  The machine started to crack, the functions blew up and created a self destruct count down for 30 seconds.  Mylosa found out how to stop Atlantis from sinking, she rapidly put in a pass code for the undo button  which stopped Atlantis from sinking!!

Keijo and Mylosa quickly dashed out striving to make it out of the cave before it exploded.  The rescue team of Atantis picked them up with Simthinsnapple.  Simthinsnapple then went to jail for the rest of his life.  When Keijo, Mylosa of course Jackno went back to Atlantis and they celebrated with all of Atlantis’s citizens and lived happily ever after.

Crcodiles swimming to LANTAU!!

Posted by carvemeup on September 30, 2008

It has been said that there are saltwater crocodiles swimming to Lantau Island from Zhuhai, China.  It is possible that 20 or more crocodiles will be on it’s way to Lantau.  The crocodiles escaped with the typhoon Hagupit’s help to break their cages free and move down Zhuhai.  The police have tried to catch them but they the crocodiles are still not caught.  Before the news came out, 10 had been caught but the rest haven’t.

I think people in Lantau should beware or stay away from the sea or else you might get eaten.  I will make a site to check/get more info on what is happenning, you must log on to access to SCMP (South China Morning Post) to be able to read the news.  If you want to go to that site click here

The Chinese Astronauts

Posted by carvemeup on September 25, 2008

Today in China there are three astronauts going to space to make the first Chinese space walk in history. All three of them were from poor, rural families of China.  There spacecraft will be out of orbit in 10 minutes or more.  The astronauts will adapt to the no gravity environment for 10 hours or more.

I think it is a great thing that the Chinese are able to produce such quality on being able to go to space, partly using natural resources in the earth.  Although I really like the Chinese celebrating for such a great moment, I think it isn’t much of a surprise because the other countries around the world have already experienced it.

Bad Pollution in HK

Posted by carvemeup on September 18, 2008

The pollution is getting so bad in HK that some schools will not allow students go outside to play.  Some say that it is the typhoon Nuri that caused all this pollution because of blowing the pollution in Shanghai to HK.  Although HK has it’s own pollution which makes it even worse, combined with the pollution in Shanghai.  Greens begged the Government to tighten air quality measuring standards, because after the records in the last two months shows that air quality remains unsatisfactory.  Legislator Tommy Cheung Yu-yan claimed that it is a humans need to keep smoking, were as I disagree on his speech because it puts more pollution in the air.   I think we could by  use less electricity so we don’t put carbon dioxide into the air.  How else can we help HK?

Wars that are happenning in countries all over the world!

Posted by carvemeup on September 16, 2008

In Iraq, Georgia and other countries around the world nations are having wars at this moment.  People are getting killed, some people lost their homes during the battle and have to stay away from their homes in case of danger.  These people would have to move to camp sites far away from their homeland just to keep safe.

Some camp sites might not have enough food or water and people might die from starvation or sicknesses.

I think leaders should cooperate with each other and be in peace so that no one gets harmed or injured.

I think what we should do to help is by protesting (in a nice way) against the goverment to stop wars forever.
